Beginning of the End

As much as I love being on vacation and not having to do schoolwork and living at home, I must say I am quite ready to go back to school. The familiarity of home is nice to be  around once in a while, and honestly, who can hate how nice Orange County is? Regardless, I’ve also grown accustomed to the unique, local colors of Berkeley and the Bay Area, but more importantly, the people and friends I have at school. Somehow – not that surprisingly, I suppose – friendships from high school have slowly faded, which I know is partially my own doing. But I can’t say that I’m not happy with the friends I’ve made at Berkeley over the past year and a half, and at how much I can confide in my friends there, and how different everything has become. So for that, I am quite thankful for those in Berkeley that I have in my life and for putting up with me. :)

On another note, I’ve been working on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) [two things I was completely unaware that they existed as some "science"! until recently]  in regards to a company’s website…and if anyone has tips or effective websites or references, please let me know via a comment or email (cacutie[at]gmail.com)! So far, I’ve used Google’s business solutions, including: Google Base, Google Analytics, and Google Webmaster Tools. Thank you in advance!

  • Aw, it sucks when you do have to step back into work... but it sounds pretty interesting with what you're doing :) I'm not even in understanding of the SEO and stuff... hope it goes well for you!
  • Uhm, hello, new reader here! :)

I've just found your blog, and I'm already in love with the layout and your writingstyle. Oh, yes, this is quite cliché, but c'est la vie.

I would actually really appreciate a some weeks-long break from school, but that's pretty impossible. Oh, well.
I'm in high school right now (but again, school systems in Hungary are waaay different! I'll be stuck here until I'm 19), and I'm not much of a social being, at least, not with everyone in my class. But I guess that's pretty usual? I can't wait to enter uni, though. But that's... 3 and a half years from now?

I'm not sure if HTML is allowed in the comments here, but I'll give it a try. Smashing Magazine has a great post about SEO tools. Smashing Mag. is pretty great with other web-related tips as well. Hope that helps!

I only found out about that SEO thing recently but I never got the chance to give it a deeper look. Hehe. It seems interesting though and it would be cool to research more about it. Too bad I don't have the time though :s
  • yeah i know the feeling. i was ready to head back the last week :D
  • Tomorrow I have my last exam before two weeks of vacation and even though I am thoroughly worn out I am already starting to look forward to getting back to school.. I don't know what that's all about but like you also mention - it's probably the friends that you have there :)
